A well-executed, arousing entertainment, this beautifully shot and smartly edited production even makes great use of film-within-a-film. The opening sex scene between Lori Michaels and Eric Masterson indicates the quality of what is coming. Masterson's engaged to Michaels, and his goofy-yet-conniving male roommate sends a videotape of him pining for his bride-to-be as an entry to an Internet "date a porn star" contest. Dasha's the porn star, and she's so overcome by Masterson's tender, romantic sniveling that she chooses him as the winner. Masterson and his buddy watch a compilation tape of Dasha together, but Masterson's loyalty is unswayed. He heads off to his bachelor party, unaware until it's too late about the identity of his surprise date. Dasha's pissed at the ruse and gets ralphing-drunk. Masterson loves his fiancée, so nothing happens (even though an orgy between Dale DaBone, Layla Jade, Ryan Connor, Alec Metro and a few others is going on in the next room). But when Michaels finds out, she chews the scenary in an amusing tantrum, flips Masterson off and makes her grand exit. Looks like the end of this blessed union, until Masterson's manipulating pal and Dasha help the lovers get back together. Downright Shakespearean, no? It works, both as a story and as hot, make-your-jeans-tighter porn.
