Everyone growing up watching '80s porn should really appreciate the detail and love that went into making this parody of that era. Director and writer Will Ryder takes us back in time, back when Jim South’s World Modeling and Reb’s Pretty Girl International were the only real agents in town.
Hollywood in 1984 was nothing like George Orwell predicted, folks! This is evident here, where modern and current performers are used to portray stars of this bygone time. And, as a whole, they do a very good job, often resemble those they mimic, and basically have fun doing so. With attention towards tongue-in-cheek authenticity and humor, a cheesy soundtrack that could have been from back then keeps the beat going at a sleazy tempo. And don’t forget the return of pubic hair.
Back then the stars, eager for work, often hung out at their agent’s office. Tom Byron, as Jim South, leads stories into many scenes, and when Byron is the character needed to meet new gal Traci Lords, played by bubbly Lucy Tyler, he graciously allows Tyler Nixon to assume his role.
While Lords is the obvious headliner and raison d’etre for this release, it is also about history, and short stories and origins are provided of stars like Nina Hartley (Ashley Graham), Amber Lynn (Cameron Dee), Samantha Strong (Carter Cruise), Christy Canyon (Natasha Vega) ... nearly a dozen altogether—plus the guys
The sex? It is pretty much also what was often seen in 1984: multiple positions without getting too crazy. Even the non-sex roles—you know who you are!—are a delight to see, even if only momentarily, as most were also in the biz during that time period. A narration, primarily by the very sexy voice of Misty Stone, fills in the blanks in the story.
Relive the basics of the Golden Age of porn, which pretty much ended when Traci Lords' true age was revealed—this is an absolute must-see.
