There were these two condoms... one says to the other...

What might be conceivably a Vaudeville routine is a think piece on today's sexuality and the varieties of people that inhabit it -just as varied as there are... well, different types of condoms.

Two boxes of prophies are sharing a bathroom closet in a motel. The old box (Trojans) looks like it's been flattened by a runaway beer truck. It gets into Rodney Dangerfield-speak as it reminisces about the glories of past ejaculations and the way we came. But it rues today's lack of respect. It's bantering partner is representative of the new wave rubber and how it perceives relationships. The repartee is cute and clever.

Illustrative of this prophylactic combat zone are pairs of successive lovers who takeover the next room. The men have attended different schools of foreplay — The Ralph Kramden Institute, Alan Alda Jr. High, Corbin Bernsen Polytech and so on. The women are all those polyglot suffering points of view exploited on TV talks shows.

There's build-up, there's tension, and there's sizzling sex. Golly, these are people sharing fears and anxieties, and they talk to one another. Spinelli gets real dialog going here thanks to the script of Michael Ellis. Particularly pleasing is Megan Leigh whose vignette with Jon Martin shows she's made the break from the Ginger look-alike bimbo mold.

Not only can couples relate to and turn on with The Last Condom, it might foster a lost art — post coital conversation. Definitely a candidate for Top Video of the Year honors.
