Directed in 1983 by the legendary (well, more or less) Vinnie Rossi, and written by the well-respected Mark Weiss, Desire takes its name from the last word Tamara Longley utters as she leaves lover Herschel Savage for good — and in his declining years, the lover (played by a well-aged Bill Margold), now very rich, hires researcher Kay Parker to discover what Longley meant by that. To do so, Parker collects a variety of sexual "amateurs," including Mai Lin, Bunny Bleu, Ron Jeremy and Randy West, and has them tell her what "desire" means to them — that is, their sexual stories and fantasies — in hopes that she can divine what Longley meant when she said it.
Along the way, there's some excellent sex to be seen. Best is Longley herself, in her brief interlude with Savage, but not far behind is Jeremy's love-making session with a mannequin which turns into the highly-attractive Misty Dawn for b.j. and doggie. Parker is underused sexually, essaying only a b.j. with West, a half-decent girl/girler with an unidentified woman, and a short Gg/mish session with "chauffeur" Jerry Davis. Desire is a decent example of too much early-'8os porn: Hot performers underused in short scenes.
