Director Viv Thomas approaches his all-girl subject matter the same way his all-girl subject matter approaches sex, by easing into it and making the process part of the reveal.

In Waves of Desire, two sun-worshipping beach bunny couples cross paths, with an apparently healing infidelity binding them temporarily together. Nicole Smith and Taylor Shay portray the more stable of the two relationships, with two languid and sensual scenes of their own to drive home the point.

Tess and Tracy Lindsay are equally eye-catching, but seem to have some issues to work out still, since the two bicker twice, regardless of enjoying summery sex beside a calm park lake. Their second tiff provides long-suffering Tess with an excuse to dash off for an unauthorized indulgence with Smith.

Consistently visually arresting, this release manages to take a common plot and both retain its sexy appeal and add emotional nuances, thanks in part to only a delicate smattering of dialogue.
