Reviews

Axel Braun continues to play giddily in the ever-expanding VividXXXSuperheroes universe he’s created to roughly parallel (and, let’s not mince words, cash in on) the seemingly never-ending mainstream one itself continuously growing and branching off this way and that.

Of course, in the Braun canon, characters have gotten prominent play that the big-screen Marvel movies haven’t even yet touched—in a sense augmenting the superhero smorgasbord Hollywood is serving up to die-hard comic fanatics. Which brings us to the case at hand, She-Hulk, who first appeared a year ago in Braun’s The Avengers XXX and has not appeared at all on the big screen, much less in her own standalone feature.

The non-Hulk version of the title character, attorney Jennifer Walters, is played by 2011 AVN Best New Starlet Gracie Glam, who starts the movie off with a hot desktop bonk opposite D.A. Mark Wood in an attempt to secure immunity for a client she’s representing in a case against a baddie named Trask. As revealed in the intro scene, Trask has put a hit on her, leaving her in a hospital bed where, while she was unconscious, she received a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner (Richie Calhoun).

As you can guess, Bruce passes his Hulk syndrome to Jennifer with the transfusion, which she discovers when a couple of Trask’s goons come to finish the job on her, distracting the guard outside her room (Alec Knight) by paying off receptionist Tara Lynn Foxx to pull him into a small side room and blow him (a task she carries out with mind-blowing expertise, we must say).

Under attack by the goons, Jennifer Hulks out, dispenses of them handily and flees the hospital. Unsure where to turn, she locates Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman (Ryan Driller and Alexis Ford), and beseeches the former to try and concoct an antidote for her condition. While he’s busy working on that, Ford seduces her into a lesbo tryst.

No sooner does Jennifer head back outside than she’s captured by an entirely new set of goons—those of sexy villainess Hydra (Jennifer Dark), who wants to create a whole army of She-Hulks. Before she gets to implementing that plan, though, she commands one of aforesaid goons (Alan Stafford) to give her a nice, hard banging.

Naturally, it doesn’t take much for Hulk Jenn to escape, and on her way out she runs into none other than Hawkeye (reprised once again by Eric Masterson). The two get it on right then and there, because really, why not?

This is reportedly Chyna’s last XXX movie (as she’s moved to Japan to teach English to schoolchildren there), and as they say, if you’re going to go out, it’s always best to go out with a bang. Of the varied characters Ms. Laurer has played over her career, She-Hulk may be not only the most apt, but the most freakishly indelible. It should also be noted that Glam’s sex scene here is likely one of the last boy/girls in which she’ll be seen, since she’s been girl/girl-only for some time now.

As if both those things weren’t enough to make She-Hulk XXX a collector’s item, the DVD also comes with an original eight-page comic book illustrating the story. In short, Axel does it again.
