Ornate masks, candelabra, complicated family relationships, and race and class issues all contribute to the mysterious, and incredibly sexually charged, atmosphere inside an antiquated French farmhouse. Prouveur even employs flashbacks to incorporate sucking and fucking into some of the more narrative scenes in Beast. Despite the modern tattoos on some of the modern men and some of the costuming, Beast is essentially a period piece without a discernible epoch. It has a darkness and intensity to it that intensifies the anal action that erupts throughout.
