Reviews

Jonah (Brad Benton) has some issues. A frustrated clean-up after masturbating is followed by tears, a prayer, and a cross torn off the wall. It's a struggle that follows him to Wormwood University, an all-male religious college headed by a dean (Dillon Press) with issues of his own. Press is quickly involved in a heated threeway with janitor Nick Capra and student Chet White. They get caught by Benton who runs away from the school. He befriends hustler Jacob Slader, a man who believes in two things: sex and money. Slader fills both of Jason Ridge's holes as Benton watches in fascination, another voyeuristic scene that is a winner. The plot to turn the tables on Press culminates in two memorable scenes: a men's room moment with Troy Punk and Ty Hudson and the romantic finale (pre-nom Best Sex Scene) between Benton and Slader. Like all of director Jett Blakk's biggest hits (Canvas, Nasty Nasty, The Bombardier), Sins embraces an intense, dialogue-driven plot, serving as a commentary on the struggle gay men face in finding love and acceptance - from lovers and from God. Benton straddles the tortured idealist role perfectly (pre-nom Best Actor), instilling the right amounts of fear, doubt, and hope in his character. Slader is also convincing as the jaded toughie whose past has haunted him (pre-nom Best Supporting Actor). Also pre-nom Best Director and Best Screenplay.
