Even with a dream cast hand-picked from the upper echelons of reigning gayporn stars, Falcon's latest, In Your Wildest Dreams, doesn't quite make the grade. It's better-than-average product, at least when compared with most videos on the market. But considering Falcon's track record, plus the cast's combined previous credits, it's at best a near-miss.

Since Falcon nevercredits directors, it's impossible to point a finger at the auteur. Even so, most of the problems seem to come from behind the cameras. Angles are unimaginative, situations are bland, editing and timing seem to be off.

What happens in front of the camera is interesting enough, but only in fits and starts. The connecting story device, a phone service which promises to fulfill even your "wildest dreams," keeps the action distanced from reality, a problem further compounded by erotic vignettes which seem unusually stagey coming from this producer, and rather laboriously choreographed. Were the performers any less attractive, interest would quickly wane.

There's the rub: most of the players are appealing enough to maintain interest, even when standing still. The only letdown is Tom Brock (a Tom Berenger type), who scored far more impressively in previous outings under director Matt Sterling. Otherwise, Chad Douglas continues his rampage as the despoiler of youth, Kevin Williams is the perfect youth for despoiling, and Leigh Erickson is Michelangelo's wet dream.
