A great idea that almost —but not quite— makes it. Matt Powers portrays a construction foreman under pressure from the profit-hungry execs to increase production or face a series of layoffs and paycuts. In his dream about the coming confrontation, the execs (Marshal, Warner, Flexxe) are real pricks, who have to be put in their place the only way the construction crew knows how. Their place, as you can guess, is on their knees or on their backs, leg raised. This one scene, which ultimately involves nine of the ten cast members, lasts for over 50 minutes and consists of one prolonged orgy. In the second (and final) scene Powers celebrates a happy outcome with his lover (Taylor).
Fans of group sex rarely get a treat to equal this. The obvious model is William Higgins' Class Reunion (1983), which had one advantage over Lunch Hour, and outdoor setting that avoided claustrophobia. On the other hand, Lunch Hour has an advantage over the Higgins film: two directors instead of one, with the result that the viewer gets two distinct but complementary visions of the action. The major problem with both features seems to be inherent with group sex: you need a map to follow who's doing what to whom. If group sex is your thing, Lunch Hour brings home the bacon, lean and filled with protein. If you're not, this title won't convert you.
