Every year the gay video industry puts a good-looking, straight-acting, straight-appearing stud in the spotlight and proclaims him the next gay superstar.  Since the start of 1991, Catalina has been touting the arrival of Lex Baldwin.  By way of saving time, I'll say now that Baldwin's performance in this, his premier vehicle, is very good.  He has a beautiful face, a thick and pleasant dick, a sexy voice, and a variety of "looks" which are hung on his shoulders as he is wheeled out for each scene.  In one, he's just a regular guy - a trucker wearing a Peterbilt cap.  In another, he's an executive in a tailored suit.  Each scene is manifested from Karl Thomas' imagination, as he stands looking at a Baldwin calendar in the middle of L.A.'s Drakes bookstore one afternoon.

The "filler" scenes when Baldwin is not on the screen are certainly not thrown away.  In fact, the hottest scene in the video for me is not the inevitable pairing of Thomas and Baldwin, but rather the three-way on a pick-up truck with Stefano, Hunter, and the greatly under-appreciated Lou Cass.  Another scene with Damien and Craig Slater draping each other over a motorcycle contains some of the best rimming I've seen in a long time.

Designed to be Catalina's biggest movie of the year, Man is a definite crowd pleaser.  As for the way Lex is handled, Chi Chi directs him with equal amounts of awe and prudence, which is right for now.
