The name value of masterful Matt Sterling and the hot and sizzling up-and-coming stars in Scorcher should heat up rentals, but overall, it's somewhat of a fizzle due to some skimpy productions work.
Chip Daniels is glowing as the serious piano player with the shy stare, even though his hands sometimes leave the piano when they should be on the keyboard. Music during the concert is full orchestra, and during the sex scenes is a solo piano, so why weren't the soundtracks switched? Sean Colby plays a straight guy who is spied on by the pianist while he plays with his own organ. Soon, the concert pianist is on stage in leather holster dancing at a Huge Video dance party (!), where hunky studs are flown in by helicopter to dance before the massive throngs of men. However, the suck-off in the jeep outside is perhaps one of the most erotic scenes of the season. Karl Thomas shows how he can suck himself and down on each other! The romantic piano duet at the end is hysterically romantic and hokey, but thankfully it ends up with some good sex.
