This offbeat and ambitious Catalina venture takes its cue from a Hollywood movie with a similar, gender-reversed title. Tinseltown newcomer Rob Cryston moves into a room in industry bigwig Brian Hart's rambling house in the hills. It seems like everyone in L.A. is getting laid except Cryston. This make shim edgy - very edgy. Things get worse when Cryston begins fixating on Hart, who already has a boyfriend. The situation gets weird, then weirder then psychotic. Suddenly, this is not your typical happy-go-lucky porn tape - until the last few minutes, when we find out that all the bad stuff was just a dream! It's a cop-out for sure, but would viewers have preferred a bloody ending?
Production is well above average and the acting is adequate, which is actually pretty remarkable for such ambitious material. The action scenes at the end are poorly staged, but the preceding tension builds nicely. As for the sex, it's hot, thanks to excellent casting and direction. Recommend this title with confidence.
