A certain nostalgia for ‘70s-style gay porn is evoked upon viewing Sands Storms. This is not a contrived retro-style tape, but rather one that emulates the tone and sensibility of those halcyon days of yore. The models in Sands Storms are young and attractive, but they are not the buffed-out clones that tend to permeate modern Los Angeles productions. Their physical flaws are minor, sexy and endearing. They have better things to do than spend four hours a day at either the gym or the body waxer’s. Many of them have hair on their chests, but they would never fall into the “bear” category. They are – shudder to think it – normal young gay guys, a little rough around the edges; and they are hot.

The action begins fast and furious, with Emilio Sands getting fucked right-side-up, upside-down and inside-out by ragged redhead Tommie Cloud. “I’m not saying I’m perfect by any means,” Latino lovegod Max Grand says to Dean Maxwell before fucking him silly. Grand is the one true hardbody in Sands Storm.

On the negative side, poor over-dubbing of moaning is unnecessary, as are far too many cutaways to facial expressions during the cumshots, but these are minor criticisms in this otherwise above-average production.
