This is one quirky tape, and that is meant in a good way. Every once in a while, a title comes along that is so much more than a sex tape: it is actually adult entertainment. Director Jack Shoot has his shit together, and he has a totally perverse sense of humor.
The Staten Island Sex Cult is made up of a small group of kinky terrorists. The organization is a bizarre hybrid of the Symbionese Liberation Army, the Heaven's Gate cult, the Gestapo and all fanatics in general. They are upset that Andrew Cunanan has grabbed their limelight. They perform a rigorous series of sex acts at the suggestion of their megalomaniacal leader, and they search for new recruits. Small details like the flashing logo on the television screen, the matching homemade tattoos that each cult member has and a wry sense of humor should earn Staten Island Sex Cult a certain notoriety in a business that tends to favor homogeneity.
