Great Dane Productions follows up last year's takeoff Nude Science with another send-up, this time of the 1989 black comedy Heathers. But in this gay-porn version, the protagonists are "Peters," a group of croquet-playing West Hollywood bitches. When nice guy Brandon Lee wants out of this clique from hell, Christian Slater wanna-be Gage Michaels appears and begins offing the offending fags. In between killings, director Dane Preston delivers some above-average sex, including a long and satisfying orgy sequence. (We won't mention the occasional graininess - oops.) There's also plenty of witty dialogue and hammy acting, especially from Patrick Allen, but Peters stays surprisingly faithful to Heathers, right down to the classic "Fuck me gently with a chainsaw" line. Only when the plot gets carried away with Michaels' maniacal plan to blow up a circuit party does Peters derail. But writer (and co-star) Dino Phillips deserves credit for almost pulling off a nice combination of wacky parody and steamy sex.
