JOHN (James L West) is a regular kiwi guy who's tired of one-night stands. Men just want to shoot and leave, when John really wants to just have someone to love.
An array of curious characters surround John's life - Rebecca the jealous flatmate, Leigh with his 'bag of tricks', straight workmate Andy and hirsute Bill; bisexual friend Steve and his accommodating fiancée Joanna who lets him have sex with men, and Hunter the stripper with Darius his 'driver'.
The much anticipated debut film from New Zealand adult film production company GLITTER FILMS, has so much that stands it out from not only other gay adult films but also any other adult film. 100% Kiwi made - filmed, edited, written, produced everything entirely in New Zealand. An all local cast and crew, for the majority of whom this was their first-ever adult film, including first-ever for the leading man James L West.
This GUY LOVE production is perhaps the beginning of a new genre of adult film, a cross-over film that sits between the explicit and the mainstream. A film it's OK to watch with a friend. There are gay, straight and female characters in the film - it's a real story, with realistic characters, plots, a generous amount of gay sex scenes, a rocking soundtrack and the acting is good!
The men are realistic and diverse, the sex scenes are explicit, realistic, safe and it's all GUY LOVE!
JOHN's fabulous soundtrack was written especially for the film. Local musician Paul Frewin, pulled together an exceptionally talented team creating an awesome soundtrack including ska, punk, jazz, metal, electronica and easy listening.
John, the title character of this unconventional adult film - the first ever gay XXX feature from New Zealand - spends most of his screen time going from one trick to another, pining about his inability to snag a boyfriend. Though not always successful (it tends to drag), this is one of those rare attempts to integrate XXX action into a realistic story cast with real people rather than porn stars. There are plenty of gal pals in non-sex roles - and even a tranny thrown in for good measure - to provide a real-life setting for John's search. Sex toys feature prominently throughout. Roger Beresford, with his humpy, hairy body, strong facial features, and pleasant sensuality is a standout. He is in two scenes and his encounter with John provides the most notable erotic buzz. Their slow and sensual lovemaking is also nicely filmed (much of the balance of the film having occasional problems with uneven editing or characters shot out of focus).
RETAILING: Real story, real people - recommend this New Zealand import to those desiring a change from standard studio product.
