LOS ANGELES, CA — From the red carpet to the closing after-party, Brad Armstrong, Jessica Drake, and Kaylani Lei of Wicked Pictures took the 2014 XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) Awards show by storm. The company’s breakout hit, Armstrong’s darkly erotic Drake vehicle Underworld earned the organization’s biggest feature movie honor, the coveted Best Epic award. The industry-only soiree was held at OHM Nightclub in Hollywood, CA Wednesday night, April 16.
Now in its 30th year, the XRCO’s Hall of Fame initiated the festivities with industry legend Amber Lynn inducting veteran Wicked contract actress, writer, and filmmaker Stormy Daniels. As Daniels was unable to attend, Armstrong accepted the award on her behalf, speaking of her rise to fame as a performer and her subsequent evolution as both writer and filmmaker. Axel Braun, the latest director to join the Wicked family, was inducted into the Hall of Fame, as well. The director used his time on stage to thank the many crew members whose contributions he touted as invaluable to his work’s success. Braun’s Man of Steel XXX subsequently earned the organization’s Best Parody (Comic) trophy.
Staying true to the XRCO’s mission statement of "giving writers and editors from the adult entertainment industry a voice in selecting the yearly best in X-rated movies,” the end of the evening saw Underworld earning the organization’s top feature film honor.
Joined onstage by Underworld star Drake, Armstrong accepted the Best Epic trophy by the fans, reviewers, and consumers who’ve made the two-disc release the year’s breakout hit.
