TORONTO—CAM4, one of the world’s largest live amateur webcam sites, has donated $5,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to mark the launch of CAM4 Cares, a fundraising program that gives back to various healthcare charities.
CAM4 Cares is the company’s first foray into fundraising. Money is raised throughout healthcare awareness months, so far including October and November. For these months, a percentage of proceeds from limited edition gifts will be donated to the respective charity. Currently, Cam4 is raising money for the global Movember charity. A donation also will be made in December.
“Not only does CAM4 Cares visually raise awareness about important health issues to our millions of visitors," said CAM4 Director of Sales & Marketing, Jas Kase, "but it’s also a fundraising platform that allows us to involve our models in giving back.”
In 2012, CAM4 Gifts was introduced as a more personal way for viewers to tip models. There are over 100 gifts to choose from ranging in price and theme.
During October, Breast Cancer Awareness gifts were added to the site and a percentage of the proceeds made up the $5,000 donation.
“The choice to focus on healthcare charities was easy. Without the health of our models and viewers, we wouldn’t have a site.” Kase added. “This wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible community, so I want to thank each and every user who shared a CAM4 Cares gift.”
