LOS ANGELES—When Kira Noir and Skyler Lo met on a Zoom call in November, it didn’t take them long to get acquainted.
“She’s gorgeous, super chill and down to earth,” Skyler says. “I love her energy.”
The feeling is mutual.
“She’s breathtaking,” Kira says. “And from what other people have told me she has a goofy side to her as well. I’m looking forward to being able to get to know her more.”
They’ll have plenty of time for that as they prepare to co-host the 2021 AVN Awards Show presented by MyFreeCams on Saturday, January 23. The 38th annual ceremony for the first time will be an all-digital broadcast on AVN Stars due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Kira tells AVN she was “shocked” to receive the hosting opportunity this year.
“It’s always been a bit of a dream of mine to be able to do this but I thought it was far off,” says Noir, a former stripper at the Hustler Club in East St. Louis, who made her porn debut in early 2015.
Born in California and raised in Nashville, the versatile Spiegler Girl landed the cover of the November issue of AVN. She has amassed more than 370 performing credits en route to numerous industry accolades that include winning her first AVN Award in 2019 for her performance in the Best Group Sex Scene for Vixen’s After Dark.
Skyler Lo, who was born and raised in L.A. and now resides in Texas, in the past four years has established herself as one of MyFreeCams’ biggest draws. The personable cam model entertains a loyal crew she refers to as Skyler’s Stars on MFC, where it’s not uncommon for her to dance, flash, crack jokes, do shots and sing along to a pop tune—all in the span of an hour.
An exotic mix of Spanish, Mexican and Salvadorian who was featured on the cover of the November 2019 issue of CAMStar, Skyler says being asked to host the AVN Awards “was just so unexpected it was surreal.”
“I was super honored,” Skyler tells AVN. “I never thought that would happen.”
She adds, “It just means so much to me. … The fact that there’s so many people in the industry it makes me feel so special that I was selected. It makes me really proud of myself.”
Skyler, who is also an avid motorcycle rider, reveals she used to watch the AVN Awards on TV before she was even in adult. She would catch the show when it made its world premiere on premium cable in the springtime.
“It’s just a really big deal,” Lo adds. “This is definitely the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”
Noir remembers when she was breaking into porn in early 2015, hearing former performer Rachael Madori talk about the AVNs at the model house where was staying in L.A.
“Rachael is an amazing girl, an amazing soul, and she was there in the model house when I got there and by the time I walked in she was already in the middle of talking about how fun it was,” Noir recalls. “And I was sitting on a couch listening to her talk about her first experience at AVN and I remember being sad that I didn’t make it—because I didn’t start porn in time.
“So I was excited for the rest of the year to be able to go to the 2016 show and meet everybody, and meet the fans and I was excited about dressing up for the first time.”
Noir shared the news about hosting the show with her dad before it was announced on the day of the 2021 AVN Awards Nominations Party on Nov. 19.
“Because I tell him everything,” Kira says. “He’s proud of me. He is really positive about my job and it’s really nice when I get to talk to him about stuff like this.”
AVN Media Network CEO Tony Rios is thrilled to have Kira and Skyler take the reins of the historic 2021 affair.
“Kira and Skyler embody all the qualities that make our industry great,” Rios says.
“They’re beautiful, professional and incredibly talented entertainers and we couldn’t be more happy they’ll be front and center of our first-ever virtual broadcast."
Skyler, whose impressive collection of motorcycles ranges from dirt bikes to street bikes, at the time of this interview had been taking advantage of the last few weeks of warmer weather before winter arrives in Texas.
“I have been riding,” she says. “It’s been perfect—in the 70s every day.”
She also has been creating more sexy videos for her social media accounts
“I’m loving it,” Lo admits. “I’ve secretly always wanted to be an actress, so I like doing my own little scripts. That’s been really cool.”
Kira meanwhile recently took a break from performing so she could fully heal from a new boob job, while also spending more time with her new puppy—a Maltese Shih Tzu mix named Bubba.
“That’s been a journey. I’ve never had a dog before,” Noir says. “I’m happy I’m able to now. … And I’ve always wanted to have a boob job, it was just a matter of choosing the right time.”
Noir had intended to travel to Asia in 2020—she even bought her plane tickets for her tour of Japan, Thailand and China—before the pandemic derailed her trip.
“I already had the money set aside, so I said if I can’t go to Japan then I was going to get tits,” she says, adding that as soon as it’s safe to travel, she will visit the Land of the Rising Sun.
“It’s always been a dream of mine. Hopefully I’ll get to go as soon as possible.”
