Fresh Faces: Freya Parker

LOS ANGELES—Freya Parker used to talk about how she was going to do porn on her Snapchat feed for almost a year before she did it.

No one thought she was serious.

Hundreds of friends and acquaintances from her hometown of Fort Collins in northern Colorado followed Parker’s musings on the platform, where the 5-foot-10 former high school mascot would sometimes post sexy pictures of herself in a bathing suit or lingerie.

“I had like a huge audience,” the now 20-year-old Parker recalls. “But I think the majority of them were just watching because they were like, ‘This girl's out of her mind.’”

But Parker knew what she wanted, she just didn’t know how to go about it.

“And then I went to [the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo] in 2020,” Parker says. “And I was like, ‘This will kind of dictate if this is something I'm interested in. I just want to get a feel for it and meet people.’

“And so after I got on that plane to go back I was like, ‘This is what I'm doing.’ So I think that I kind of prepared everybody for that.”

When the pandemic took hold last spring, Parker quit her desk job and started an OnlyFans. Then in late July she went live on MyFreeCams for the first time, logging on every day for her first week.

By the time Motley Models reached out to her on Instagram in October—even though she took a few days to think about it—she was more than ready to step up.

“I love it,” Parker tells AVN. “It's kind of scary because you just throw yourself into it. And I feel like girls usually know within like the first two to three weeks of shooting if they’re going to enjoy it or not.”

Now Parker may only be six months into her porn career, but she’s already making an impression. So much so that she caught the attention of the three-time AVN Director of the Year Kayden Kross, who cast her in a scene opposite the six-time AVN Male Performer of the Year Manuel Ferrara for Deeper.

That scene—titled “Under the Skin”—debuts today on Vixen Media Group’s Deeper, the premium label that Kross guided to the 2020 AVN Award for Best New Production Banner.

“I wrote this project for Freya because she’s obviously very new, but also seems to have a strong sense about her and an elegance and presence that you typically see much later in a female performer’s career,” Kross tells AVN. “My default reaction with new talent is to put them in some sort of submissive role knowing that they will probably naturally behave that way.

“In Freya’s case, I sensed a bit of dominance that just needed to be carved out. That’s what gave me the idea for the story: an elegant young woman with domme aspirations who only needed the mentor to get her there.

“I could see her with the drop earrings and silk dress and low updo that would show off her neck, which is why we set a lot of shots wherein Manuel’s hand drifted there to draw attention to it.”

Kross continues, “Freya arrived and was in person exactly the woman she appeared to be online, and the part fit her perfectly. There’s a bit of a Sasha Grey streak in her. She’s the kind of quirky that makes you want to know her better. At the end of the shoot she snapped a Polaroid for an ongoing project she’s working on. She is scrapbooking her porn career.”

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Not only did Parker come into adult with more awareness of who’s who than most newcomers, she also came armed with the kind of porn collection that dreams are made of.

“It's funny… Back home, I’m always very cautious. I have a roommate, so I'm always very cautious of who's coming in and out of my room. I have an entire bookshelf of magazines and DVDs and toys… It's like a whole thing,” Freya confesses.

She owns stacks of vintage Playboy magazines, Hustler mags and publications featuring MILFs.

“Oh my gosh, I love MILFs. I was always like the Over 50, Over 40—this is great for collaging,” says Parker, who would cut out specific photos she liked to create her themed collages.

She became a regular at Doctor John’s Lingerie and Adult Novelties in Fort Collins, where she started building her stash.

“And I go back actually every single time that I'm there so that I can get more lingerie and stuff for shoots before I leave,” Parker says. “And just this last time I was leaving and I had bought like two magazines, and then a toy and a couple of stockings. And the girl looked at me and she's like, ‘Are you the girl that left your job to do porn?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god, what?’ I have a face mask on. I don't know how this girl knows who I am.

“And I was like, ‘Um, yeah, I did do that.’ She's like, ‘How is that going for you? Do you like that?’ I’m like, ‘What is happening?’

“So yeah, every time I go in there now they know who I am. It's super exciting.”

Parker’s interest in porn extended beyond watching it and making X-rated scrapbooks. Sometimes she would write essays about it, too.

“And I always wrote them on paper because I was like, ‘What if someone hacks into my Google account and they're like, ‘What is wrong with this girl?’” she cracks.

“I did keep all of them in a folder. … So what I would do first I would go through and watch a scene or a movie, and then take notes on it. And then I would go through again and then write an essay on it.”

She excelled in English in high school, taking advanced placement classes that were “the one thing that I really enjoyed doing.”

Parker says the majority of her essays were about Andrew Blake films.

“I used to watch a lot of Andrew Blake," she says, referring to the AVN Hall of Fame cinematographer and director. "It’s funny because none of them were on newer stuff. All of them are on older stuff, but I still have all of them."

Parker knew about Motley Models before agent Ryan Kona sent her a private message on Instagram in October. She had not been following Motley’s official account, but she was following lots of adult models, producers and directors, not to mention posting risqué photos on her own page.

When she saw the message from Kona, at first she didn’t know what to think.

“I was intimidated,” Parker admits. “Because I knew that it was something that I wanted to do. And at this point, it was a pandemic. And I was telling my roommate, I was like, ‘I could be doing all these fun things that I want to do, but I don't have the opportunity and I don't know what I'm doing. And I don't know who to talk to.’

“And then he just happened to reach out to me at that time. And I was almost like this is too easy.”

The Las Vegas-based Kona tells AVN that Parker’s account came up as a “suggested follow” as he was making his social media rounds one day—and he stopped right there.

“She has a supermodel good looks,” Kona says. “So I reached out to find out what her goals were and if this industry is right for her.

“Freya knew exactly what she wanted. She had done her research. I’ve had plenty of conversations with Freya and she’s so smart and funny—an amazing sense of humor on that girl. When we’re looking for girls to bring onto Motley, we’re looking for girls like Freya with some knowledge and who are in it for the right reasons.”

Parker overcame her initial apprehension about receiving an invitation to do porn at “a perfect time" and decided, “if anyone should be doing porn, it's definitely me.”

She chose her stage name by using a baby-name generator website and pressing "shuffle" until she found something she liked. Then she flew to Las Vegas to work for NetVideoGirls on October 23. Her scene partner was Tyler D.

“I remember after they called ‘cut’ I was like, ‘Oh my god, I love this so much...' And that feeling hasn't left since,” she says.

Motley Models president Dave Rock says Parker is a rare find.

“She was someone who loved the porn industry before she got into it,” Rock tells AVN. “She was a fan of many different performers. I believe she’s a natural for this industry. She’s beautiful. That girl has great skin, great facial features, a great figure. She speaks really well and is intelligent. I’m really excited about her future.”

FURRY FEELING

A model since the age of 6 who participated in Denver Fashion Week, walked in a runway show for Dillard’s department store and once did a TV commercial for Naked Juice, it seems Parker was destined for the spotlight.

“I remember there was a point where I had an audition for Grace and Frankie on Netflix. But my mom was like, ‘You can't miss school to go to that, I'm sorry.’ And I was so upset,” Freya says.

"So I think it's funny now that I have the opportunity to do the things I want to do because at the time, living in Colorado there is no space for entertainment. It's just not the right place for it.”

When Parker was starting her sophomore year, she wanted to be a cheerleader. But after finding out she missed the tryouts by one day, the school athletic director told her they still needed someone to be the mascot.

“I was like, ‘I don't know how I feel about that,’” Freya recalls. “And so I tried on the costume and it fit perfectly. And I was like, ‘Alright, I'll do it.’”

The AD asked her if she could do any backflips or somersaults.

“I was like, ‘No, but I'm really enthusiastic,’” says Parker, who had the nickname “Bullet” when she played soccer for 10 years prior to that because of how fierce of a competitor she was.

YOU LOOK FAMILIAR

Speaking of enthusiasm, as Parker was amassing her porn collection she began to realize who some of the industry’s bigger players were.

“So a big one for me was Manuel [Ferrara] because I thought he was amazing,” Parker says. “And everybody knew who Manuel was. … I was like OK, clearly this person is important.”

She also knew of Joanna Angel, the founder of iconic alt-porn site BurningAngel.

“I waited in line to meet her at the AVN Expo. And I walked up and she was like, ‘Oh hi, who are you signed with?’ And I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’

“I was like, ‘No, I'm a fan.’"

Parker says she has even since crossed paths with Angel at one of the industry testing facilities.

“And I'm always too scared to say hi,” Freya jokes. “But it's so funny because sometimes I do run into people that have had a huge impact on me. ... I'm like starstruck every other day.

“I literally knew who everybody was... I know who everybody is. 'Oh, nice to meet you, I know exactly who you are.'"

Parker at the 2020 AVN Show also waited in line to meet Spiegler Girl Lacy Lennon and chatted with Gabbie Carter, who posed for a free photo with her at the Jules Jordan Video booth.

She recalls when she first arrived on set for Erotica X and AVN Hall of Fame director James Avalon that the stills photographer that day was Michael Vegas.

“And I walked in and I was like, 'I need to go to the bathroom, I just need a moment to breathe,'" Freya says. “So it's kind of everybody. Just because I was following so many people. And I was reading so many interviews and watching so many interviews.”

Parker at press time had about a dozen scenes released, including her bathtub hookup with Nathan Bronson for Avalon’s Erotic Affairs 5.

“I was very impressed with Freya on the set,” Avalon tells AVN. “For such a young woman, I felt she had a great aura of sophistication and intelligence about her, and she was very enthusiastic about doing something a little different with that scene.

“I had her play a kind of sassy woman in charge, and she performed that role exquisitely. Her sexual performance was natural and intense, and I was very pleased with how the scene came out. I’m definitely looking forward to putting her in more projects in the future.”

Parker also appears in Bad Lesbian 13 and Cheer Squad Sleepovers 35 for Girlfriends Films; Stepsister Rubdown for 3rd Degree; and scenes for BrattySis, Naughty America, Penthouse, Reality Kings and Nubiles Films.

She says her throwdown with Quinton James for Hustler Video—directed by Marcus London in Vegas—was the first scene in which she had sex on a bed.

"I was like, ‘Wow, a bed, that’s so exciting!’” she says.

In the setup, Parker was at home listening to music when her doctor (James) makes a house call.

“But he walks in when I'm doing things,” Freya says. “And then he's like, ‘Oh, sorry for intruding.’ And I'm like, ‘Maybe you could help me. You’re my doctor, you know?’ It’s very porny, but I enjoyed it.”

So did Quinton James.

“I think I was her second or third scene and let me tell you, you would have never known this girl was brand new,” James tells AVN. “Not only is she attractive, she’s funny, super welcoming, fun, energetic and professional. I do not have enough great things to say about this girl, and we had an amazing scene.”

James adds, “She’s awesome. I would work with her again in a heartbeat."

Parker attended the Motley Models viewing party for the all-digital 2021 AVN Awards, seeing some of her agency sisters—such as Emily Willis—celebrate career-defining triumphs.

“I thought that was very exciting,” Parker says. “It was really cool to be around everybody.

“And I can't ever tell if my silence comes off as like antisocial or awkward or weird, but for me, I'm just taking it in. And I'm still like… my brain will always have that fan mentality. It's so cool that I get to do these things and be with these girls. But at the same time I put everybody on a pedestal… So yeah, it's very intimidating, but I loved it.”
