LOS ANGELES—Audrey Hempburne remembers watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s “over and over again” when she was little.
She calls the star of the film—the late British actress Audrey Hepburn—“an inspiration.”
“Just the idea of modeling and living the life—and Paris,” Hempburne says. “It was beautiful.”
So when it came time to decide on her porn stage name she wanted “something that leaves a mark.”
“And I smoke pot, so Hempburne,” she jokes, noting that her agent John Steven—the owner of Matrix Models—hatched the idea.
“I’ll actually give John credit. He’s the one who came up with Hempburne. … He just sat there for two minutes and was quiet and then he was like, ’Audrey Hempburne.’ I was like, ‘That’s it. That’s perfect.’ … I know everyone’s so surprised, but John came up with it in the car on a ride to a go-see, literally the first day he met me.
“I respond to Audrey now in public. So it’s good. It’s not just some basic name.”
“It’s classic and it totally fits her,” John Steven tells AVN.
The 19-year-old former cam girl from Tucson, Arizona—about two hours south of Phoenix—made her adult industry debut in May after answering an ad on SexyJobs that turned out to be for Matrix Models.
“John called me like 20 minutes after I put my profile in. It was pretty funny,” Hempburne says. “I had always wanted to be a porn star. I had literally seen a picture of Holly Madison in Playboy when I was like 12 years old.”
Hempburne also recalls seeing commercials for “The Girls Next Door”—the reality TV series that followed the lives of three Playboy Playmates living at Hugh Hefner’s mansion—that aired on the E! channel from 2005-10.
“I would want that to be my life,” she says. “I remember just envying those girls. So when I first started doing cam—when I first turned 18—I tried getting into the porn industry. And it just didn’t work out. I wasn’t able to find a good agent to get me into it.
“I found some guy who was like private. It was just not good and so I was like, ‘No, we’re not doing this.' I need a contract, a real agent—something that’s going to be legitimate. Thank god for John I found that.
“I was hoping maybe this would get me somewhere. I didn’t think that it would progress as quickly as it did.”
Now the leggy, 5-foot-4 performer, who has green eyes and was captain of her cheerleading squad in high school, is becoming known for her upbeat demeanor on the set—not to mention some sizzling sex scenes that often include multiple “real” orgasms.
“She’s doing amazing; everyone loves her,” says Matrix boss John Steven. “The great thing about her is she just has a wonderful attitude.
“When directors go out of their way to contact me and say they really enjoyed working with her and want to work with her again that’s pretty much the most positive response you can get.”
Directors such as Rob FTV, the owner of the Phoenix-based FTV Girls, a site that typically shoots girls when they’re brand new to adult.
“Rob shot Audrey four times already and he just booked her again to do a girl/girl with Gabbie Carter,” Steven continues. “She’s worked for PornPros three times now and they’ve booked her for another two shoots.”
Rob FTV, who is also a dentist and builds PC games when he’s not shooting porn, tells AVN Hempburne is “awesome.”
“The biggest thing is she is so full of positive energy and it really shows on video,” Rob says.
He took her to a lakeside park for their first shoot. “She was a cheerleader, so she has acrobatic skills; she can do cartwheels and backbends and things like that.”
Rob, who launched FTV Girls in 2002, says he no longer practices dentistry for profit, but he still does volunteer dental work at a local hospital.
“A lot of the agents send their girls to FTV first because it’s a good experience and it juices them up. Also the pay is good for a solo shoot,” Rob continues. “It shows the girls in the nicest, most natural light. That’s why the site gets the girls first.”
Rob continues, “This girl Audrey loves to fuck and actually has real orgasms from having sex and masturbating; she’s not faking it. Sometimes you think she’s faking but then you realize she’s not; she’s not acting even though it almost looks like acting. But when you’re there you see that it’s real.”
Hempburne had performed in about a dozen scenes at the time of this interview in late June, appearing on Naughty America, ATK, SpankMonster, 5K Porn and Exploited College Girls for starters.
“I really liked working with Ryan Madison for Kelly Madison [for 5K Porn]. That was really cool,” she says. “Another one that I really liked was Naughty America with Bambino.”
That group scene for Naughty America also featured Savannah Sixx and Emily Willis in a poolside romp.
“I had done a boy/girl/girl before that, but not like a four-some like that,” Hempburne says. “The whole time I would forget we were shooting. Because it was by the pool and we were having a fun time. … It makes things way easier too when you’re having a good time and you’re cool with your co-stars.”
Bambino, who was born and raised in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, and reached his 11-year anniversary in porn this month, tells AVN, “I think she was a very shy and sweet girl.”
“My impression of her was she was very tranquil, very down to earth and had a very bubbly personality,” Bambino says. “I like the scene because I was blessed to have three hot chicks to work with.”
Hempburne has also squared off with three-time AVN Best Actor Tommy Pistol for Team Skeet and gone down on fellow newcomers Lily Glee and Hazel Moore, among others, as she makes the rounds through Porn Valley.
“Everyone I’ve encountered so far has been really nice,” Hempburne says. “There’s no one on my ‘no’ list yet.”
She says her first scene—with Jake Adams for Exploited College Girls—could not have gone any better.
“He was such a gentleman. He opened the car door for me and he was just really sweet,” Hempburne says, adding she even started her period during the scene and it still went smoothly.
“For Exploited College Girls they do this behind-the-scenes-type thing where you’re like getting ready in the bathroom and he’s messing around with you. And so [Jake] starts fingering me in the bathroom and he stops and he looks at me and says, ‘You started your period.’ And I’m like, ‘No way.’
“And then he was like, ‘It’s cool. We’ve got sponges.’ And he washed his hands off. They were just so cool about it. Every nerve—everything just went away after that.
“I think camming really helped, too, because I’ve been around a camera and I know that people are going to watch. I think live is different, too. Because you can’t cut live out. So I know what it’s like to be under the spotlight like that.
“I was like a little nervous that I wasn’t going to have chemistry with him and then when that happened I was like, ‘We’re totally going to have chemistry.’ If he can just be cool about that then… Almost all guys are like that in the industry. But before I was in the industry guys were weird about periods. They would be like, ‘Ew, that’s gross.’
“Whereas he just made me feel like it’s not even a problem. The scene was super intense but that was the best sex I’ve ever had was with Jake Adams. … I told him that. I think because it was my first scene, too, adapting to how much work it is.”
Hempburne continues, “Because you think it’s, ‘Oh, we’re just going to have sex really quick.’ But it’s work. It’s fun work. I enjoy it—don’t get me wrong. That’s why I liked the scene with [Ryan Madison], because I knew what I was getting myself into. I knew this is probably going to be an hour of sex. And that’s what it is. I got more used to it.”
Jake Adams, a three-year industry veteran from Charleston, S.C., who is enjoying a breakout year in adult, tells AVN, “Honestly, I cannot praise this girl enough.”
“She was truly a pleasure to work with,” Adams says. “I told her I will never forget our scene as she holds the record for the site—and for me personally—for the most orgasms.
“I have no doubt that if she decides to stick around in the industry she will do great things. We had the privilege of bringing her back to [Exploited College Girls] for another scene—this time a boy/girl/girl—and she absolutely killed it. I hope I’m able to work with her again in the near future.”
More than a year before she became Audrey Hempburne, the excitable brunette worked as a cocktail waitress at two strip clubs in Tucson. That’s when a friend told her about Camster.
“And the same friend who told me about Camster told me about SexyJobs,” Hempburne says. “Because I was telling her about going into porn and asking her, ‘How I could do like amateur porn on Pornhub?’
“She’s like, ‘Fuck that. Just apply to SexyJobs. Someone will find you and you’ll do fine.’ She’s like, ‘I didn’t know you wanted to do porn. You should’ve told me that in the beginning.’ And I was like, ‘Well I didn’t know you knew how to find everything.’”
That talk happened in May. And Hempburne didn’t waste any time after John Steven made contact with her, accepting his invitation to fly to LA the next day.
“He sounded so genuine on the phone and I looked at the website. The worst thing that could happen is I go down there and he’s like some creep and I have to fly home,” she reasons. “And I have the money to do that from doing camming. So I was like screw it. He’s going to pay for my flight out there. So I was like, ‘What do I have to lose? And what do I have to gain?' A lot. … I made the right decision coming out here.
“I stopped camming as soon as I came out here. John told me to keep camming, but I don’t want to keep camming under a different name. I’m actually goin to re-sign up today to cam under my new name.”
Hempburne cammed as “XXXAnastasia” on Camster.
“Shout out to anyone who has seen me before I got into porn,” she says with a laugh.
Hempburne says many of the same fans who started following her from her camming days are now supporting her porn career.
“I think I had 4K [followers] before I even had my first video out on Twitter,” she says. “I love my fans; they’re so sweet.”
Cheerleading played a major role in Hempburne’s high school years as she traveled to national competitions during the summer.
“I’ve been cheering since I was 4 years old,” she says, adding she made it to varsity as a freshman. “I was in cheer my entire childhood. It was so much fun. I loved it. I loved the athleticism of it, doing something every single day.
“Because we had practice four times a week. And we would have Sunday practice when there was a competition so we would have five days of practice. … But that’s what I loved about cheer—the competitiveness and the drive it gives you.”
Hempburne continues, “I gained a lot of confidence in cheering because when I first started I was overweight. I think that’s why my parents got me into it. I was just a little bit overweight—just like baby fat.
“And I was not confident at all and I started seeing pictures of myself with perfect poses, exactly what it was supposed to be. Or doing stunts and people were like, ‘Good job. You’re the only one who can do that.’ And then that increased my confidence because I was like, ‘Oh, I’m the only one who can do that? Cool. That makes me something.' And it also gave me a never-give-up kind of attitude.
“Thinking back on it now I had some of the best times in cheer, competing with all my cheer friends and traveling with them.”
Now when she watches a football game she understands what’s going on.
“It’s not just a bunch of random guys throwing the ball,” she jokes.
She liked being captain because it taught her how to take charge of a situation.
“Because I would have to assign seating and we got bags with all our names on it and I’m the one who went and did it all for the team,” Hempburne explains. “I just thought it was fun doing bookkeeping and getting everyone together.
“I feel like I’m like that still—even in porn. If there’s a girl whose newer than me I’ll take control and be like, ‘Alright, let’s do this. Come on.’ Just like how I was back on two-a-days. I'll be trying to get her to do whatever I need for this shoot to be good.
“It’s so funny… I catch myself—not like being dominant or taking over—but just kind of taking leadership over things. Which I think is good but also sometimes I realize taking a step back is important because you can’t always be the leader of everything. So there’s a fine line. I’m pretty sure I’m good on balance."
Hempburne held down shifts at Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds for three years during high school.
“It was really fun. I was working at them simultaneously. And then I also worked at Safeway,” she says. Hempburne even scooped ice cream at Baskin Robbins for a span.
To celebrate her birthday on June 22, she went with friends to Disneyland.
“I used to have an annual pass back in the day because I used to come here so much,” Hempburne says, revealing that Space Mountain is her favorite ride.
It didn’t take long for people in her hometown to find out about her porn career because a girl she doesn’t even know posted about it on Facebook in an attempt to shame her.
“There’s nothing they can say or do that’s going to stop me,” Hempburne says. “If anything, it’s going to make me grind harder. It’s going to make me more ambitious to win awards or be on covers of magazines just to prove to those people.
“It’s comical seeing all the comments and how much effort and time people put into drama. But I still get a kick out of it everyday. It’s like entertainment for me.”
Now Hempburne says she wants to do porn “until I retire.”
“This is where I’m going to be in 10 to 15 years,” she says. “I’m going to probably be still doing porn. I’m going to do porn until they won’t let me do porn anymore. Until they’re like, ‘You’re an old lady. You need to get out of here.’ Even then they might be able to use me for something. That’s my goal—to do this until I can no longer do it.”
