Deadline: Pornhub Offers to Pick Up HBO's Adult Programming

HOLLYWOOD—In a report earlier this week by the Los Angeles Times, the far-reaching effects of the adult tube site paradigm came into stark relief with HBO's revelation that it is removing its library of sex-infused late-night programming the likes of Real Sex and Taxicab Confessions from all its platforms—in large part, the network said, because adult content is "easily available elsewhere."

But not to worry ... because the king of all tube sites, Pornhub.com—which of course almost singlehandedly created the shift in consumer culture resulting in the outcome, as HBO indicated, that "there hasn't been a strong demand for this kind of adult programming"—is swooping in to save these long beloved shows.

In a statement to Deadline.com, Pornhub vice president Corey Price said, "It's a shame to see HBO rid itself of its late-night adult programming, and we consider classic shows such as Taxicab Confessions and Real Sex, among others, to be vestiges of a bygone era. We can attest to the continued demand for adult programming and think there is immense value in the promotion and consumption of sex-positive shows. That said, we would like to extend an offer to help produce new seasons of the informative skin-baring programs and host them on our HD, on-demand platform Pornhub Premium."

Price added, "We would also be willing to house past seasons of said programs on Pornhub Premium for our fans to enjoy 24/7. At the end of the day we're all about penetrating new markets, and we're excited to insert ourselves into this discussion and hopefully provide more compelling original content for our fans."
