Film Fest Welcomes Adult Industry Panel

SILVER LAKE, Calif. - The upcoming Silver Lake Film Festival has scheduled a panel discussion with adult industry professionals on May 10 at 8 p.m. Panelists include veteran adult film star Nina Hartley, historian and critic Ira Levine, director Eon McKai and AIM Health Care director Sharon Mitchell, Ph.D.

McKai jokingly told AVN.com that he's planning on strictly "speaking when spoken to" during the panel. "It's an honor, but it's also a really intimidating panel," he said. "I'd really rather hear what those guys have to say…that's just fine with me. In all honesty, this is a big deal. I have a lot of respect for everyone on the panel and it should be a very interesting experience."

The panel will feature clips and discussions about the development of adult films over the past forty years. The festival will also screen an "Alt Porn" showcase on Saturday, featuring selections from various alt porn features, chosen by the filmmakers themselves, along with in-person appearances by the directors and performers.

Venue information for the panel will be announced at a later date. For updates on the panel, contact the Silver Lake Film Festival box office at 323-953-8340 or [email protected]. For more information or to purchase tickets online at $11 each event, visit www.silverlakefilmfestival.org.

The Saturday alt-porn showcase will screen at 11:45 p.m. at the Los Feliz 3 Theatre (1822 North Vermont Ave.) The showing is open to everyone, 18 and over. For more information, click here.

The Silver Lake Film Festival has provided a showcase for independent films and filmmakers in the Los Angeles area since 2000. The festival runs this Thursday through May 12 at seventeen venues throughout Los Angeles.
