LOS ANGELES—Adult industry veteran Rebel Lynn has embarked on a new phase of her career this month. She told AVN that she is launching three new projects designed to give her even greater control over her online presence, after five years of steady studio work.
“I am currently launching my OnlyFans, my AVN Stars page, and my Pornhub page," she said in late January. “When I first got into the industry, I stayed away from content trade and all that. I just wanted to do production work. Now I’m focusing more on clips, and content.”
The move into independent content has been a popular one among adult performers since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic about a year ago. But for Lynn, who is under a non-exclusive contract to Porn Pros and also is a spokesmodel for CAM4, the industry production slowdown that resulted from the global health crisis gave her room to step back and reassess the direction of her future in the business.
“The pandemic allowed me to breathe, to do that,” she said. “In my day-to-day life before COVID, I just didn’t have the time. It didn’t make sense for me to just put up my iPhone and film a scene. I like the cameras, and the glitz, and the lights, and the makeup artists and everything. I like the full set. Now, I’m only doing exclusive content. I’m not trading content. I’ll be paying people to do content with me.”
For her triple-launch, Lynn had five employees working to process her content and get it online, she said, “creating my pages, loading my content, editing. They’ve been working really, really hard, and now all the work is paying off. It’s a long time coming and it’s going to be really good to have all that out there.”
What her fans can expect, Lynn says, is “years worth” of behind-the-scenes videos, still pictures, “solos, and just stuff I have in my phone that’s never been seen before. All of that will be uploaded onto my OnlyFans, my AVN Stars, and my Pornhub.”
But the online launch on Valentine's Day was only the first of a series of goals that Lynn says she hopes to meet in 2021. While the pandemic put many of resolutions for the year on hold in 2020, she says she has a number of “firsts” planned for this year.
“Some of the goals came into this year. But this year, most important for me, is I want to work on my first gang-bang, my first double vag, and my first DP. All my big firsts. Five years in the industry and I have been able to pace myself, and have some longevity with my career. It’s something I’m very happy about, to be able to do these firsts five years in. It’s pretty great.”
She adds that she hopes to work with director Jules Jordan on her series of “firsts.” In fact, “if he wants all of them, he can have them.”
Her new online launch, and her planned series of “firsts” will be hard-earned for Lynn, who recounts a childhood growing up in foster homes and group homes, “not the best environment. I had to raise my younger sisters, I was raised by my older sister. We had a lot of struggles growing up. We’ve been through a lot of abuse, and a lot of different types of situations.”
But those experiences “made me who I am,” Lynn says. “I am a very strong woman, and I got into this industry to be able to show that. To show that power I’ve been able to have. And part of that is because of the adult industry.”
After her rough upbringing, she says, “you have questions about who you are, and what you’re meant to do. For me, I’ve always been very sexual. And part of that is the abuse that I went through, and not knowing who I am. And not understanding my own sexuality.”
The adult industry, Lynn said, enabled her to “realize my own sexuality, take control of my own sexuality, and love it. That’s something I wouldn’t change for the world.”
Since entering the adult industry in 2015, Lynn has appeared in more than 120 video and online productions for companies including Hustler, Girlsway, Kink, Cherry Pimps, Team Skeet, Jules Jordan, Girlfriends Films, Evil Angel, Swallowed, Nubile Films, Vixen and Tushy in solo, g/g and b/g scenes.
Lynn, who is represented by Ideal Image Models, says that her goals for 2021 are enough for now. She plans to “take it one year at a time. Take it slowly. Not touch anything.” Though she would, at some point in the future, like to transition to the other side of the camera and start directing adult videos, “after of course, I do all my firsts.”
There is, however, one big goal on which she has set her sights not only this year, but in any year.
“You can put this in there all you want. I want to win awards. That’s why I am in the industry. I’m not in the industry just to fuck — because, come on. Please. Of course, I’m not in the industry just for the money. I am in the industry to become famous. I want the name. I want the awards. I want every award possible. And I am going to work as hard as I possibly can to achieve those goals. Just to come into the industry and take everything from it.”
