LAS VEGAS—The cam model known as Honeyy Monroe stood outside Vinyl Friday night still processing how she had just watched Lil Wayne perform a private concert.
“I was so happy and impressed, like how did MyFreeCams come through with that?” Monroe asked. “I mean like the connect? How did they get Lil Wayne, come on!”
MyFreeCams treated its tight-knit community to a party for the ages on the eve of the 2018 AVN Awards, hosting the superstar rapper for a show-stopping performance of all his greatest hits at the intimate nightclub inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
It became clear from Lil Wayne’s opening song “Mr. Carter” that he was bringing his A game.
“He showed up,” Monroe said, adding that she’s been following the Grammy-winning artist from New Orleans for at least 15 years. “This is definitely something off my bucket list.”
She said it was hard to pick a favorite track of his, “but of what he played tonight my favorite was definitely ‘She Will.’”
“It depends on what era,” Monroe reasoned. “That’s how you can tell how much impact he’s had. It’s a long run of music.”
The Vegas resident who is from the West Coast said she’s been camming for more than five years on MFC—and a big reason she chose the platform was “my favorite color is green.”
“It was an easy choice and a lot of it was the freedom that I have there. It’s easier to make conversation and meet people,” she added.
MFC cam girl Poison Ive told AVN she’s been a fan of Lil Wayne since his Hot Boys days.
“Since the early 2000s,” Poison Ive said, noting she’s been on cam for the past three years.
The part-time student who grew up in Massachusetts now lives in Vegas, where she is studying sexology so she can someday become a sex therapist.
“And I model, too, so it’s a win-win situation for me,” Poison Ive said. “I’m interested in the human brain, it gives people kinks and interests. One person’s turn-on can be another person’s turn-off. I have a fascination with that.”
She is camming live from Muse Hall during the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo for the second straight year. “It’s more exciting because you have a live audience, so there’s more anticipation and you feel more confident,” Poison Ive said.
Lil Wayne, who has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, is performing again tonight at The Joint during the 35th annual AVN Awards Show presented by MyFreeCams, which for the first time will be live-streamed on AVN.com beginning at 9:30 p.m.
The U.K. model known as Backup Dancer said this week marked not only her first time in Vegas for AVN, it also was her first trip to America.
“I wanted to meet my model friend who also cams on MyFreeCams, so I needed to come out here to meet her and I just wanted to have the AVN experience,” said Backup Dancer, who also goes by Poro and has been on MFC for about a year.
Most times she does not get naked on cam unless it’s on a rare occasion during a rank month.
“It’s been pretty interesting,” Backup Dancer continued. “I met a couple of my regulars—my members that I have—and I’m really happy to have met them because they’re really nice people. I’m a student, so actually I only cam on MyFreeCams once a week on the weekend because I have a full-time job.”
A marketing professional during the day, Backup Dancer is considering a return to school to get her Master’s degree. She said her friends know about her weekends on MFC, which she discovered through fellow UK model and web personality, Harriet Sugarcookie.
While she wasn’t really a fan of Lil Wayne before Friday, she enjoyed the show.
“I’m having a really good time,” she added.
The Tampa, Fla., native Sammi Ross told AVN seeing Lil Wayne Friday “was my first rap concert ever.”
“This was awesome,” Ross said. “MFC has done a lot of positive changes. Now we have our own little personal concert and they spoil us wild. They take good care of us.”
Ross returned to cam this week at AVN after an extended hiatus.
“It was nice to come back,” she said. “I’ll be camming around 3 or 4 [on Saturday] and then I have to do a brand ambassador job for a new company.”
Fetish Barbie, a Vegas local who formerly was Harlow Money on MFC, said she was helping take care of girls who were getting tipsy on Friday night, making sure everyone was drinking enough water and wasn’t overdoing it.
“This party is absolutely amazing, so many girls showed up,” Barbie told AVN. “They go above and beyond for us. I can’t imagine what they put into making this happen. Also they’re so about our safety.”
Barbie said she liked how Lil Wayne expressed his gratitude to the crowd, when he said, “I would be nothing without you guys. You guys are the world to me.”
The excitable blonde was thrilled Lil Wayne performed her all-time favorite “Mr. Carter” first.
“I can rap the entire song,” Barbie said. She changed her screen name because it suits her brand more. “It was easier for them to decipher what I actually do,” Barbie said. “I do multiple clip sites but this is the only website I cam with, they’re incredible.”
Jenny Blighe, the Arkansas native who is the February 2017 CAMStar, said her favorite Lil Wayne song is “Love Me.”
“I actually play that song in my chatroom all the time,” Blighe said.
On Wednesday Blighe joined eight of her MFC sisters to cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the AVN Show.
“That meant a lot to me,” she said. “I never expected to be a part of that at all. That was really exciting.”
Meanwhile, she was thrilled to finally meet some of her members in person this week.
“Like five people from my chatroom have showed up. It’s been nice,” Blighe continued. “It’s just really cool putting a face to a username because at first I’m kind of nervous, like I know ‘SoundsGreat’ is coming but who the fuck is ‘SoundsGreat’? I mean it could be anybody. They know me so I’m just kind of like waiting. Once I meet them it’s good because I have that connection. Because none of my guys turn on the camera. I know a lot of girls do that but mine never do. It’s always a surprise.”
