LAS VEGAS—Harli Lotts ate plenty of salad and drank a ton of water in preparation for the biggest AVN week of her career.
“Honestly, that’s all I did and I was just trying to tell myself don’t fall on your face wearing heels,” Lotts joked Wednesday as she and eight of her MyFreeCams sisters—all of whom have graced the cover of CAMStar magazine—joined AVN CEO Tony Rios to cut the ceremonial ribbon for the 2018 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
The star-studded lineup of MFC models made for a historic occasion as Aspen Rae, Avalynn Rose, Bailey Rayne, Catjira, Jenny Blighe, HackerGirl, Miss Molly and Scout teamed with Lotts to kick off the largest adult tradeshow in the world in grand style.
Lotts, who got back on cam today for the first time in seven months, on Saturday night will co-host the 35th annual AVN Awards Show, which along with AEE is presented by MyFreeCams, at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
“I can’t be more grateful,” said Lotts, a native of El Paso, Texas, who lit up the June 2017 issue of CAMStar. “It’s almost surreal. It still feels like it’s not real even though I’m here. I’m just so over the moon. I’m excited.”
Avalynn Rose, the October 2017 CAMStar who is from Iowa, was thrilled to be part of the opening festivities in what will be her sixth AVN Show.
“This is a one-of-a-kind event,” said Rose, who will be going live on cam from the AEE show floor this week along with hundreds of other MFC models. “With all the girls in the background and the fans walking by it’s more voyeuristic and fun. Plus the guys can tip you right in front of you and see your reaction in person.”
Scout, the August 2017 CAMStar, said she was “honored” to cut the ribbon and couldn’t wait to get back up to the room so she could get into her camming attire and return to the MFC booth where she plans to log on later today.
“I have like fishnets and a little leather bra thing—my cam clothes—so totally different vibes later,” Scout said, noting this is her third AVN and she knows how the navigate the chaos. “I think just because I’ve grown as a cam model where I don’t let stuff bother me anymore, I just come and be myself.”
Catjira, the November 2017 CAMStar who grew up in the South, said being asked to participate in the ribbon ceremony was a welcome surprise.
“I feel really overwhelmed by it,” Catjira said. “I wasn’t expecting to be invited to that. I’ve always known what it was so it was such a big deal for me to be there, especially with more than just one person because in the past it’s only been one person. So it was really nice to be with other cam girls who are on MFC with me and they’re my friends. All of us are friends so it’s really cool.
“I didn’t think I would ever be able to do something like that. So I feel way cooler than I actually am. It’s my first AVN, so I’m really nervous about everything.”
Aspen Rae, a native of Northern Calif., who was featured in the inaugural January 2017 CAMStar, is no stranger to the excitement of AVN week; she co-hosted the 2017 AVN Awards and also cut the ribbon to begin AEE 2016.
“Being able to cut the ribbon for the second time was awesome—just being up there with friends and family it made it even more special,” Rae said. “The first time I did it, it wasn’t quite as intimate because I’ve known some of these girls for years and years and years. It was almost like a family event.”
As the presenting sponsor, MyFreeCams increased its presence at this year’s show with a sprawling booth located in Muse Hall and another in the entrance area. MyFreeCams, whose sister site MFCShare adorns the elevators in Hard Rock's Casino Tower, will accommodate more than 700 models this week while producing a full slate of private nighttime events.
“It’s unreal,” Rae continued. “I never in a million years could’ve imagined the growth that MFC has experienced within the site, the updates and the booths and the parties. It is expanding exponentially. I remember 2011 was my first AVN and there were maybe three or four girls at a time at the booth and now there are hundreds at any given time. It’s been awesome to be a part of it and see it skyrocket. You can’t look anywhere in the hotel without seeing some sort of MFC representation.”
