LOS ANGELES—Under-fire adult star James Deen for the first time directly addressed the multiple allegations that have come against him over the past 10 days in an interview with former performer Aurora Snow that ran this morning on TheDailyBeast.com.
Saying that he is "shocked" by the accusations of the nine women who have come forward with stories of sexual assault and/or abuse at his hands, Deen asserted, "I have spent this past week terrified and confused."
In regard to the charge that started them all, from his most recent ex-girlfriend, Stoya, Deen said, "I am completely baffled. There are public articles all over the internet, written by her, that make the exact opposite claims. She discusses how we communicated and how we were very careful with consent especially when involved with rough sex.
"What I do know is that Stoya and I did not have a clean break up," he continued. "It was pretty messy, full of a lot of emotions and both Stoya and I are to blame for that. ... The reason Stoya made this claim could be as simple as her finding out that my current girlfriend and I are moving in together. ... I can't speak to her reasoning or motivations."
While flat-out denying some of the accusations, including those by Tori Lux, Nicki Blue, "T.M." and Kora Peters, Deen made little attempt to debunk the account of his first industry girlfriend, Joanna Angel, as she told it last Thursday on "The Jason Ellis Show."
"There are certain inaccuracies and exaggerations in these stories," Deen said. "For instance, if everything said was accurate it would mean I started doing porn at the age of 17. However, I will absolutely admit to being an emotionally insensitive boyfriend. I will admit to being immature. I will admit to being an overall jerk. I have publicly apologized many times and I will continue to do so. Joanna Angel is one of the smartest and most creative people I have ever had the chance to know. She is a great person and deserves a great boyfriend. I don't get to be forgiven by Joanna and that is not anyone's problem but mine. My punishment is that one of the coolest people on the planet dislikes me and I don't get to have her friendship. I have to deal with that. No one else. I will absolutely continue to apologize to her for being a shitty boyfriend."
It is important to note, as Angel did multiple times while recounting her experiences with Deen, that she does not accuse him of any crime.
Deen himself stressed, "I want to remind people that I am not the subject of any lawsuits, I am not under criminal investigation, and at this moment I have no intention of filing defamation suits against false accusations."
The most recent accuser, who came forward Monday in an article published by the U.K.'s Daily Mail, is Deen's co-star from the Vivid Celeb sex tapes Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom and Farrah 2: Backdoor and More, reality TV star Farrah Abraham. Due to the late-breaking time of Abraham's allegations, Deen has yet to address them.
