SAN FRANCISCO - Raging Stallion Studios and VOD company NakedSword/AEBN have joined forces to create a major production. NakedSword has has previously provided bonus content for Raging Stallion's Arabesque and Lords of the Jungle.
Grunts, an "Army movie to end all Army movies," will be shot this summer in northern California with an estimated budget of $175,000, which was used to rent real Army Jeeps and buy a portable field Army base.
Recently inducted into the GAYVN Hall of Fame, director Chris Ward said, "Grunts is the movie I have been waiting to make. Our rapidly expanding DVD sales have allowed us to really step up high-end production. Many studios are abandoning the 'big movie' format, but we are hoping to keep on making the kind of blockbuster epics that have made us the top-selling studio in the country."
NakedSword's director of marketing, Michael Stabile, said, "NakedSword is growing rapidly in scope and as a brand, and the Grunts project is one of our first steps in that direction. Raging Stallion offered us an unprecedented branding opportunity and is allowing us to work closely with them to produce the behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive interviews, and special features that have given NakedSword a competitive edge among porn consumers."
NakedSword will be branded in all promotional materials associated with the film, will get co-production credit, and get its logo on the cover of the DVD box, in addition to other branding.
The cast — including seven men who were deployed to Iraq — has Raging Stallion Exclusives, Jake Deckard, Steve Cruz, Roman Raggazzi, Brodie Sinclair, Billy Berlin, and Justin Christopher as well as Luke Hass, Kumrun, Domonic Pacifico, RJ Danver, among others.
Grunts, Ward's 125th film, will be released in three two-disc increments, one each in January, March, and May of 2008.
