In Praise of Indecency

Review

Much as we might wish it were so, not all fans of the adult internet read AVN’s magazines, so this collection of columns by AVN Online and AVN contributor—and longtime political activist—Paul Krassner will probably be welcomed by his legion of fans, some of whom have been following the Yippie Party co-founder’s writings since he created The Realist back in 1958.

Krassner’s musings here include anecdotes about Lenny Bruce, which Krassner left out when editing the late comedian’s autobiography; thoughts on the annual Masturbat-a-thon; an interview with comedian Paul Provenza, co-producer and director of the ultimate “dirty joke” movie The Aristocrats; recollections of Krassner’s brief stint as editor-in-chief of Hustler magazine (and the truth about Larry Flynt’s “conversion” to Christianity); an imaginary conversation about child porn between the Who’s Pete Townsend and Pee-wee Herman; and a couple of ditties about the extreme types of sexual activities that can be found on the internet.
