LOS ANGELES—Sally D’Angelo is celebrating 10 years of earning AVN nominations after her recent Niche Performer of the Year nod for the 2025 AVN Awards.
“AVN is like the Oscars of adult, so I am extremely flattered. My career actually started in my 30s. I was asked at the local swingers club if I would be interested in filming some XXX,” said D’Angelo, who recently turned 70. “That was in the '80s maybe '88 or '89. All the movies were on VHS back then and I was not known as Sally D’Angelo. I just showed up to get fucked and get my check.”
However, D'Angelo's career was short-lived when she married and left the industry to focus on her family. In 2013, she ran into a cameraman who had worked at Harold’s Studios, one of the companies for which she previously worked.
“He said he knew of a company looking for older women to film XXX and I said yeah right who wants to see an old woman get fucked?” D'Angelo quipped. “He gave me the name Score Studio. My husband had sold his business so I said, 'Hell yes. I’ll try out,' and I did.”
D'Angelo soon began shooting more with Score while getting offers from other studios. As her career ramped up once again, she started City Girlz Productions, her own production company that would allow her to create content for SallyDangelo.com and her sites on ManyVids, OnlyFans, and others.
The performer would go on to earn several nominations for her work as she helped build the GILF niche in the industry.
“My success has a lot to do with my personality. I have a 'never met a stranger' attitude plus my ability to put together a good team, my husband does a great job marketing, I have an artist/script writer in Finland, a great camera crew, I can act, I can do comedy, I can dance, sing, plus a set of 42 triple Gs don’t hurt either.”
D’Angelo has worked for studios such as Brazzers, Devils Film, Vivid, Reality Kings, Gilfed, and others. She would also be featured in Cosmopolitan and Hustler Magazine.
Additionally, D’Angelo is set to produce four new releases on her City Girlz brand.
