MONTREAL—Pure Taboo continues the second season of its streaming anthology series Under the Bed with a new episode, “The Growth,” starring Lulu Chu, Penny Barber and Sophia Locke.
The story follows Annie (Chu), “a young woman raised under the suffocating rule of her religious stepmother Mary (Barber), who is determined to keep Annie on the ‘righteous path.’ But after Annie secretly explores her sexuality for the first time, she wakes to find a grotesque, living growth between her legs. Horrified, Mary rushes her to urgent care, where Dr. Hunt (Locke) examines the mutation—setting off a chain of events that blurs the line between faith, fear and bodily autonomy,” a scene description reads.
“Working with the brilliant cast and Pig Machine crew on this twisted little gem was a blast,” said writer-director Bree Mills, chief creative officer of Adult Time. “It’s everything horror and futa fans could hope for—dark, daring, and delightfully unhinged.”
Merging body horror and psychological tension, “’The Growth’ pushes deeper into the anthology’s signature blend of dark storytelling and taboo themes, exploring the consequences of repression and the terrifying power of desire left unchecked,” the description added.
