Pony Clubs to Celebrate Dolly Parton With '9 to 5 Day'
NEW YORK—Pony Clubs and its affiliated locations in 11 states will turn Sept. 5 into "9 to 5 Day," a company-wide celebration inspired by Dolly Parton's hit song and her signature glamour, humor, and hardworking spirit.
"Dolly has always made hard work look glamorous, and that's exactly the spirit behind '9 to 5 Day,'" said Mike Dickinson, regional manager for The Pony Clubs. "We're celebrating the women who show up, put in the hours and keep America moving. We want to give them a reason to trade the office for rhinestones and have some fun. Just as importantly, every participating location will help give back to its own community."
As part of the celebration, women who work the 9-to-5 grind will receive complimentary cover at participating locations, including The World-Famous Admiral Theatre in Chicago, IL.
Standard age, identification, dress-code, and entry requirements still apply. The celebration will also feature a Dolly Parton look-alike contest, inviting guests to bring their biggest hair, brightest rhinestones, and boldest country glam. The winning contestant will receive two admission tickets to Dollywood. The prize includes tickets only; transportation, lodging, meals and all other travel-related expenses are not included.
A percentage of event proceeds will benefit local charitable organizations selected by participating venues, allowing each club to celebrate the people who power its community while giving back close to home.
Event hours, contest registration and judging times, participating charity partners, and venue-specific details may vary by location. Guests may contact their nearest participating Pony Club or affiliate venue for complete information.
