LOS ANGELES—Pineapple Support has reached its 7th anniversary of providing mental health care to those in the adult industry.
Pineapple Support CEO and founder Leya Tanit said, "As we celebrate seven years of Pineapple Support, we are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished. The road has not been easy, but we have persevered and grown. The growing demand for our services [is] a reminder of just how vital our work is. With continued support, we can eliminate the wait list and continue to provide life-changing care to those who need it most. Tanit launched Pineapple Support in 2018, following a series of tragic losses within the adult industry due to depression and other mental health struggles. A qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Pineapple Support has connected more than 15,000 adult industry members with free, low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support. Last year, it globally added 94 new therapists, expanding its network of mental health professionals to offer services in 23 languages.
In the coming year, Pineapple Support aims to raise an additional $120,000 to ensure individuals connect with a therapist in seven business days, providing urgent cases—such as those involving sexual assault, suicidal ideation, domestic abuse and substance addiction—with more immediate care.
