LOS ANGELES—Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will attend LALExpo in Cali, Colombia, from February 23-26. Founder and CEO Leya Tanit will speak with studio owners, models, and platforms about the importance of mental health support within the adult industry.
At LALExpo, Tanit will join panels and discussions hosted by CAM4, Streamate, and WebCam Lab to address key mental health challenges in the adult industry, including burnout, online harassment, and stigma. The discussions will focus on practical strategies for fostering a safer, more inclusive work environment for performers, studios, and platforms.
“The adult industry continues to be affected by stigma and misinformation, but we are seeing a strong and growing movement to support the well-being of performers and industry professionals,” says Tanit. “Recent reports from organizations like Human Rights Watch emphasize the need for comprehensive mental health support and fair treatment. Our goal is to ensure that no one in this industry feels isolated or without access to resources.”
Tanit founded Pineapple Support in 2018, following a series of tragic losses within the adult industry due to depression and other mental health struggles. A qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Pineapple Support has connected over 14,000 adult performers to free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.
“Industry events like LALExpo allow us to directly engage with the people we serve, understand their challenges, and ensure that the mental health support we provide continues to meet their needs,” says Tanit. “The demand is great and we need more partners to ensure that everyone in this industry has access to the care they deserve.”
