LOS ANGELES—Mistress Cyan, fetish artist and founder of Sanctuary Studios, will host her annual "Slave Auction" charity event this Saturday, where subs, doms, switches, and kink enthusiasts put themselves on the auction block to raise funds for those in need.
The event will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday at Sanctuary Studios, 13012 Athens Way, Los Angeles, CA 90061.
For 28 years, Cyan has organized a Thanksgiving food drive at her dungeon to help the homeless and those in need during the holidays. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food and canned goods in exchange for "auction money" to bid on volunteers who have put themselves up for auction. Her fetish “family” at Sanctuary Studios coordinates with local food banks and charities to distribute the donations after the event.
Those looking to go on the auction block for a good cause can complete a questionnaire outlining their likes and dislikes, which will be shared before bidding begins. Organizers emphasize that no actual sex will occur. All activities will be negotiated, consensual, and conducted with full respect of safewords.
"This is a Sanctuary Studios tradition," explained Cyan, owner and founder of Sanctuary Studios. "The thought of people being hungry over Thanksgiving is a very disturbing thought for me. Over the years, our efforts have inspired local churches and groups to step up and donate to our cause, and the result was that more than 100,000 people have been fed because of what we're doing."
Grocery gift cards, new socks and underwear, and clean blankets will also be accepted. Food donations will go to The MCC Church in North Hollywood for community distribution, while non-food items like toiletries, diapers, socks, and blankets will be donated to MCC in The Valley and The Sidewalk Project.
"Sometimes, guests will get together and pool their funds to bid on someone they really like," Cyan added. "The auction is an exciting way to meet new kinky friends. Guests are also welcome to simply bring a donation and stay for the party at our spacious facility with themed playrooms."
