LOS ANGELES—Mercedes Carrera and The Porn Charity have announced an exclusive partnership with the webcam site Benevidz.com and the marketing team at Porn Career Builder.
After raising over $11,000 for charity through Theporncharity.org with a webcam show, and personally aiding fellow performer Cytheria raise money for her sexual assault recovery fund, Mercedes Carrera has chosen Benevidz.com to host weekly fundraisers for charitable causes.
In an interview with Porncareerbuilder.com, Mercedes talked about her decision to partner with Benevidz, saying, "Benevidz has been so generous to provide us a platform, there is so much ideologically that The Porn Charity has [in common] with Benevidz.com which is ... the opportunity to use our platform to make a difference."
Mercedes went on to say that she is excited to show the world the good that porn performers can do with their influence. She also believes that by effectively marketing the venture through her partners, she can provide a sense of personhood to performers in the eyes of mainstream media.
As of late Mercedes has been hard to miss through her Twitter feuds with anti-porn feminists such as Gail Dines. She believes the continued charitable work can effectively illustrate the empowerment of women through each performance.
Mercedes will be making her first appearance on Benevidz April 17 at 4:30 p.m. PST through a Reddit AMA. She will announce her first live sex show during the broadcast and the performers who will join her.
