LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Adult performer Jamie Jett discusses her libertine lifestyle and her drive to combat the vilification and stigmatization of sex work in a feature profile in the May 2021 issue of NightMoves magazine.
Founded in 1987 and distributed throughout Central Florida, NightMoves Magazine is the second oldest regional adult publication in the U.S. The organization also operates the Tampa-based NightMoves show and Adult Entertainment Awards ceremony.
In Jett’s “Entertainer Spotlight” profile for the nightlife monthly, industry scribe and critic Moutasem Seyam a.k.a. Mutant Mo writes that the young star’s proclamation, “It’s hard to slut-shame a hedonist,” struck him “with a visceral joy that warmed [his] porn-loving heart.
“Performers like Jamie Jett bring much-needed energy to the adult industry,” he continues. “This unstoppable and alluring attitude shone through a career that started to rise in a pandemic year.”
Jett begins by explaining why porn in her dream job: “Most sex negativity in the U.S. is based on the regressive idea that sex is shameful, and that premise is easy to ignore because I disagree with it so fundamentally,” Jett says. “I believe that the purpose of life is to maximize pleasure, so having sex with beautiful people instead of working a 9-5 desk job is idyllic to me.”
Of her long-term goals, the recent university grad states, “I’m hoping to work in adult film for a few years, attend law school with the goal of becoming a sex workers’ rights lawyer, and then work on the movement to decriminalize and de-stigmatize sex work in our society. And even as a lawyer, I’ll probably shoot a few scenes a year for the fun of it.”
Jett stated that she is thrilled with the published feature.
“Moutasem’s questions for the article were phenomenal,” she raved. “He brought up the same points I fixate on, philosophically, as a performer: the benefits of hedonism in combating sex negativity, how to intertwine adult performance with vanilla intellectual life, and the question of whether porn is art, to name a few.
“I can’t wait to attend my first NightMoves show, the next time it’s held! I want nothing more than to meet the community and fans who love NightMoves—I think there’s nothing sexier than adult magazines, and everything becomes more erotic on a printed page.”
