HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Multi-award-winning trans performers and creators Jade Venus and Ariel Demure were the latest guests on Matt Slayer's "And Now We Drink" podcast.
Venus and Demure shared stories about their time in the industry, including the highs and lows, as well as the challenges they faced as trans performers. They discussed how they navigated the industry and their personal lives, as well as how society perceives them. The duo reflected on their backgrounds, journeys to personal acceptance, being empowered by their work, and living authentically on and off camera. Demure also provided a sneak peek at her upcoming parody, "The Naughty Parody," in which she stars alongside Brittany Andrews, Jade, and an all-star cast that pays homage to the 90s sitcom starring Fran Drescher, set to release on Nov. 26.
Said Venus, "This was a lot of fun and we really kept Matt on his toes—at times, he didn’t know if he was coming or going. However, I think he also gained a valuable education on what it’s like to be trans in the industry and the world. It was Ariel’s second appearance and my first, but I would definitely love to come on again sometime."
Demure added, "I was ecstatic to do Matt’s show again. It was the first stop on our whirlwind tour of media for 'The Naughty Nanny' parody, and I was happy to do it. It was even more fun than my first appearance on the show, only this time I did it with Shirley Temples flowing. Matt is a great host, and this is a wonderful episode."
