Producer Glenn King is moderating two seminars at the 2017 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo aimed at performers who want to run their own companies. Panelists will provide expertise about starting your own business and producing content. Both panels will take place on January 19 in Festival Hall C at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Details are as follows:
1 p.m.—Girls on Film: Whether you’re a cam girl looking to make customs or a porn star who wants to launch a site, there’s more to shooting clips than just picking up a Go Pro. Instead, learn from the pros. This panel will cover basics of shooting, equipment, legal considerations, post-production, where to sell your content and how to boost sales—as well as a rundown on what problems you might encounter. Moderator: Glenn King. Panelists: Jimmy Broadway, Astro Domina, Ashley Fires, Luke Longly, Ela Darling, Jay from IWantClips.com.
3 p.m.: Meet the New Boss: Adult stars and directors face the same challenges as other performers and artists. Many are independent contractors who don’t enjoy the benefits provided to traditional employees. One solution is to incorporate. This panel will look at the benefits and pitfalls of creating your own business—with yourself as the CEO—and explore the ways you can help that business grow. Moderator: Glenn King. Panelists: Karen Tynan; Ela Darling, Jim Orlando, Jersey Black, Scott Kimball.
Moderator Glenn King elaborated, “We have reached an era of porn where the performers have the power to become independent. They no longer need to wait for companies to book them, and no longer need to depend on producers for income. Any performer can producer her/his own content and make a good living! The people on these panels are the absolute best and most successful in this area. Panelists on the 1 p.m. panel will answer your questions about production, and then at 3 p.m. experts will help you run your business. Attendees will able to ask questions of world-class accountants, attorneys, performers, producers and more.”
This panel is open to all AEE attendees with a trade badge, including independent producers as well as performers.
