VALENCIA, Calif.—Girlfriends Films aims to bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer with a donation to the Santa Barbara Avon 39 Walk to End Breast Cancer scheduled to take place September 10-11, 2016, in Santa Barbara, California. The company published a feature story in its June 2016 Newsletter announcing the charitable donation on behalf of the all-girl adult film studio.
This 39-mile walk that spans a two-day weekend invites participants to “crush fear, doubt and breast cancer—one persistent step and donation at a time.” Through donations, the program assists thousands of women each year by helping those who are at risk or diagnosed with the disease today, and also funding research to find better treatments for the future.
Since the studio’s inception, the folks at Girlfriends Films have been proud supporters of women’s rights and issues. So, it only seems fitting that the recipient of their charitable donation is an organization leading a nationwide effort to raise money in the name of breast cancer research.
Moose, President of Girlfriends Films, says choosing this charity was a no-brainer. “Our original films are all about women, and we want to show our support by bringing awareness to this battle that more and more women are facing every day.”
In addition to the Santa Barbara event in September, several walks supporting Avon 39 are slated from July, 2016 to June, 2017 in various cities including Boston, San Francisco, New York, Houston, Washington DC, and Chicago. Girlfriends Films invites colleagues, fans, and friends to join them in the effort by donating or signing up to participate in a nearby walk for Avon 39.
