VALENCIA, Calif.—Each month Girlfriends Films turns to one of its employees or performers to select a charity to support. On behalf of Girlfriends Films employee Dave, the Armed Services YMCA will receive a check for $1,000 as the August charity donation. The Armed Services YMCA is a top-rated military nonprofit designed to make military life easier on families.

“I am selecting this organization for two primary reasons,” stated Dave. “First, their support of our military families, as it is the entire family that sacrifices when a loved one is called upon to assist in maintaining the safety many of us take for granted, and the freedoms allowing us to express our differing opinions. The second reason is because of its support of the needs of our troops’ children through its programs, as well as its collaborative efforts with Operation Homefront and other quality organizations.”
The Armed Services YMCA provides hands-on, innovative, specialized programs and support services to military service members and their families with a particular focus on junior-enlisted men and women—the individuals on the front lines of defending America. Programs are offered at no or low cost and require no dues or membership fees.
“Family is important to us, which is the very reason why we’re turning to those who work at Girlfriends Films to select the charities we support in 2014,” said Girlfriends Films President Moose.
In 2013, the Girlfriends Films Charity Program donated over $20,000 to a wide array of philanthropic organizations, from medical institutes to animal sanctuaries. Charities supported in 2014 include Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Movember Foundation, Stand Up to Cancer, National Alliance to End Homelessness, and more.
Any Girlfriends Films performers interested in participating may apply by emailing the following information: name, AIP charity of choice, reason(s) for selecting the charity. Chosen performers will be asked to submit a personal photo depicting the performer engaged with the charity, the charity’s mission, or a similar charitable act. The photo will be used for promotional purposes.
