LOS ANGELES—Adult star Ebony Mystique opened up about career transitions, personal growth, and creative expression in the latest issue of Germany’s FCK.FM magazine.
In a personal Q&A, the Brazzers contract star, entrepreneur, and former critical care nurse reflected on her leap from the world of healthcare to adult stardom. “During the pandemic and working as an advice nurse, I became very interested in finding another career and stream of income. My first few scenes went viral… the rest was history,” she shared. “Great decision.”
Mystique discussed her transition into the industry and how she stayed grounded during her rapid rise to fame. “Main thing was to keep a professional mind and keep my finances in order as I was now independent versus white-collar as an RN,” she explained.
Despite newfound fame, the performer keeps her feet on the ground. “Oh my, let’s just say I can’t go outside without being noticed. It’s a gift and a curse, I always have to look good even if going to the grocery store,” she laughed.
She also touches on her support system and how those close to her responded to her new path. “It took some understanding and time, but they never really judged me. They know I’ve been successful prior and make pretty good decisions. Now, they just accept my career and we are really close,” Mystique said.
When asked what drives her most in the adult industry, she said it comes down to autonomy and sexual liberation.
“Personally, autonomy and being sexually liberated without regrets,” Mystique affirmed.
The magazine also dives into Mystique’s entrepreneurial ambitions, including her 2022 launch of a creator-friendly studio space and her plans to expand into production. “I just wanted to create a space which was themed and colorful. Porn-friendly and accessible to creators in general… I am interested in so many types of productions, not just porn but also safe-for-work.”
She also discussed her passion for advocacy, such as organizing a charity event for the Free Expression Coalition on International Women’s Day. “I love being feminine and women must lift each other up! When you see others pushing positivity, it is contagious.”
