Deja Vu Kalamazoo Gears Up for Roof Sit Fundraiser

LAS VEGASDeja Vu Showgirls Kalamazoo is gearing up for a charitable event this December, initiated by general manager Holly Johnson, as she plans to live on the roof of the venue for the club's first annual Santa’s Little Heroes roof sit to raise $20,000 for local children in need.

From Dec. 1 to 7, Johnson will remain on the roof, sleeping in a tent and braving the elements until the fundraiser reaches its goal of $20,000. The funds raised will go toward providing local children in need with 500 backpacks filled with toys and essential care items.

Said Johnson, "Our goal is to make this holiday season a little brighter for children who may not have the resources for a special Christmas. By living on the roof for a week, I’m hoping to inspire others to get involved and help us reach our goal of $20,000. Every dollar donated will go directly toward filling 500 backpacks with items like toys, socks, mittens, toothbrushes, crayons, and other essential items to help these kids feel cared for."

The funds will allow the Deja Vu Showgirls team to help ensure that the children will have toys to enjoy and also basic necessities to get through the winter months. The backpacks will include crayons and coloring books, mittens, socks, toothbrushes, as well as toys.

Donations can be made directly to the club by calling (269) 344-8104 or email [email protected] for more information on how to contribute.

Johnson added, "Each donation brings us one step closer to our goal. I’m committed to staying on this roof through rain, snow, or shine until we’ve raised the funds to help as many kids as possible."
