LOS ANGELES—Candee Licious and Zazie Skymm star in Mixed X’s “The Other Memory,” an emotional drama now streaming on MixedX.com.
Written and directed by Zsolt Abraham, the scene follows a young woman (Licious) as she arrives at a lakeside house with her lover (Skymm) and begins to sense something is wrong. Strange clues convince her the place holds a past she cannot recall. The truth soon emerges that Skymm is an artificial intelligence built from her lost partner and the house is a therapeutic simulation for her grief. Licious must choose between staying in the illusion or returning to the real world where Skymm would disappear.
“‘The Other Memory’ is about the quiet, devastating choice between holding on and truly healing,” Abraham said. “I wanted to explore how the past can feel safer than reality, and how love sometimes asks us to let go rather than stay. Candee and Zazie’s story highlights the human fear of moving forward when the past still feels alive. For me, the most powerful moment is not the revelation, but the decision to walk through the door.”
