CHARLOTTE, N.C.—AEBN (Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network) has published insights on POV or “point-of-view” adult content in its latest report posted to the AEBN Trends blog.
“The first-person perspective lets viewers see through the eyes of their favorite stars, letting them live out fantasies they might otherwise never experience,” an AEBN spokesperson said.
“What’s better than taking a ride in your dream car? Driving it, of course. Sitting behind the wheel and taking control of the action, feeling the rumble of the engine, getting to experience the thrill of the open road. POV content does exactly that. Putting the viewer in the shoes of their favorite talented performer and letting them live out the scenario on screen. Of course, if POV is sitting in the driver’s seat, Gonzo content is getting strapped to the hood and speeding through traffic,” the spokesperson added.
The report goes on to describe the hallmarks of first-person POV-style content, the difference between POV and “gonzo,” as well as displaying a chart showing the steady rise in the popularity of POV content on the AEBN platform, from 2001 to 2025.
While unclear on how emerging technologies like virtual reality and AI may soon influence the POV genre, the report also gave several examples of popular POV content available on the AEBN platform.
