ASACP to Visit Cyprus for Island Conference

LOS ANGELES—The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) will participate in the upcoming Island Conference (i-Con) in Limassol, Cyprus.

i-Con is set for May 28-29 at Limassol's City of Dreams Mediterranean. The conference is an ASACP In-Kind Media Sponsor and attracts more than 3,000 attendees including 120 exhibitors and sponsors from a range of high-risk, high-reward industries.

With 50 speakers presenting across seven stages, expanded exhibition areas, dedicated meeting points and a full schedule of side events, i-Con’s sessions cover SEO, iGaming, growth strategies, online payments and the latest in AI and tech.

“We believe that protecting minors online is a shared responsibility that starts with awareness, accountability and action from all stakeholders,” an event spokesperson explained. “Creating awareness and taking active steps to keep children away from inappropriate content is a shared responsibility across the industry.”

ASACP’s fundraising director Michelle Marriott will attend the event, “where she will build and renew relationships with industry stakeholders and spread the association’s mission to keep children out of and away from age-inappropriate content and adult-oriented entertainment,” an ASACP rep said.

i-Con organizers have generously sponsored Marriot’s attendance at the event.

Now in its 30th year, ASACP is an award-winning, globally-recognized, member- and sponsor-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting online child safety. ASACP’s free child protection tools for educators, parents and media publishers include Best Practices customized for various market segments and a Code of Ethics for all website and app publishers.

Among ASACP’s most notable achievements are its RTA (Restricted To Adults) meta-labeling system, which prevents children from accessing adult-oriented web pages and apps, and its CSAM Reporting Tipline, which has processed over 1.3 million reports since its inception.

ASACP executive director Tim Henning said he is pleased that i-Con is taking a leadership role in creating a safer online environment, adding, “By supporting the association’s child protection initiatives, events such as i-Con allow us to expand our reach and deliver our message to a broader audience. This ability to leverage our efforts by meeting directly with the top stakeholders really pays dividends in the battle to protect children online.”

“On behalf of the association, I want to thank i-Con and DialXS for their support,” Henning concluded. “ASACP’s outreach at Island Conference will allow us to connect with new companies and deliver our message of proactive corporate responsibility.”
