HULL, United Kingdom—Uncover Creations, a UK-based adult toy manufacturer, has launched Design A Grinder II, a sex toy design contest in which the winner will receive a $1,000 grand prize, and the winning design will go into full production.
Contestants may submit an original grinder concept, with selected runners-up receiving $500 and a customized toy of their choice. No purchase is necessary.
The first Design A Grinder competition produced three winning designs after an exceptionally close public vote (30.8 percent vs. 30.5 percent). As a result, the company abandoned plans for a single winner and instead announced two community picks and one team pick on the same day. The resulting products—The Maw, The Venus, and The Petal—went from submitted sketches to finished products now sold globally.
"We genuinely didn't know what to expect the first time around," said Luke, company co-founder. "What we got was some of the most creative, considered product design we'd seen. Our community took it seriously and the results speak for themselves. We're doing it again because it works, and honestly because we love to see what people can come up with".

The deadline for submissions is 9 a.m. GMT or 4 a.m. EST, 1 a.m. PST on March 20. Three finalists will be selected and put to a public vote, with the winner announced on April 30. Contestants may submit multiple entries.
