WASHINGTON—The Woodhull Freedom Foundation's next installment of its virtual series, Fact Checked by Woodhull, focuses on common myths about pornography. The series examines claims and misconceptions related to sexual freedom and is accompanied by articles of the same name.
Fact Checked by Woodhull investigates claims about pornography, age verification, sex work, free speech, transgender and gender-nonconformity, and sexual orientation, drawing on peer-reviewed academic research. "Fact Checked" articles are also short, accessible, and free to all.
The next episode of the virtual series will be live on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6 pm ET.
Registration is free, and ASL interpretation will be provided. Experts and panelists include Lotus Lain, Dr. Zahra Stardust, and King Noire.
Ricci Levy, president and CEO of the Woodhull Freedom Foundation, explained, "Pornography has long been used to stir up fear and anger. And when people are frightened or angry enough, politicians can convince them to give up rights they would otherwise fight to protect."
"The result is policy driven by panic instead of evidence—policy that threatens our fundamental human and constitutional right to free expression," added Levy.
