Adult Platform Secreto Mio Urges Lawmakers to Ban Free Porn

LOS ANGELES—Secreto Mio, an adult entertainment platform, recently published an industry analysis urging federal and state lawmakers to prohibit the free distribution of explicit material while preserving paid, biometrically verified channels—a policy the company argues would solve several of the industry's most urgent problems at once.

The analysis, titled "Why Regulating the Adult Industry Starts with Ending Free Access," contends that generative AI has made traditional consent verification under 18 U.S.C. 2257 unreliable, since paper records and ID photos can now be convincingly forged.

The company argues that only biometric verification tied to government identity databases can restore confidence in performer consent—and that this level of verification is only economically feasible within a fully paid distribution model.

Notably, Secreto Mio currently hosts free, ad-supported content itself.

"We are not outside observers offering abstract policy recommendations," the company states in the analysis.
